Good news, everyone: Fieldrunners, our classic tower defense game, is now free to play right in your browser! How is this possible, you say? All thanks to the magic of HTML 5 and Google Chrome! We’ve ported a hi-def version of Fieldrunners into the powerful new language, allowing fans far and wide to play the game for free.

This new version of Fieldrunners includes the powerful Poison Tower, as well as two new modes, and new tower combos that can be used in any level.
As I mentioned, this version was designed with modern gamers in mind. Using the contemporary “Free to Play” model, you can access to the first of eight maps for free (the classic Grasslands map!). If you want more action, each additional map can be had for $0.99, or you can purchase the complete map pack for $4.99 – cheaper than any version to date.

The game worked on Google Chrome yesterday then it stopped running… why ? (Sorry, your browser’s configuration does not support WebGL.)

What version of Chrome are you using? If the issue persists, try going to get.webgl.org and go through the appropriate update.

It’s the latest Chrome and I tried to update my card driver.
But according to http://www.google.com/support/chrome/bin/answer.py?answer=1220892 WebGL is not supposed to run on my machine, but how come the game ran in the beginning… was it under a different format other than WebGL?

That’s kind of strange, it was definitely still using WebGL at the time. Did you try going to get.webgl.org and updating through that?

Hi Khaled, sorry to hear that you’re still running into issues. Unfortunately, purchasing the full game won’t cause these issues to be fixed. I’ll keeping talking to the team about possible solutions and let you know when we come up with something. Sorry for the trouble.

Hi Ignacio, are you using Google Chrome or a different browser when you’re getting this message. Also, are you using Chrome or the Chrome OS?

Doesn’t look like the “–ignore-gpu-blacklist” flag works anymore in Chrome. Google just killed this app.. bummer

I played the game yesterday and 2 days before that, it was working. Today I am trying to play, the game doesn’t load. Please help, how to fix this
I reinstalled chrome, cleared cache, restarted my pc…nothing works..
Also my chrome browser supports WebGL. I tested it using get.webgl.org.
Can somebody please tell what is happening here??

Sorry for the trouble. We had to take the game down a few hours ago for some routine maintenance. We’ve had a few reports that it’s back up already for some folk, but I expect the game to be officially back online in the next two hours.

I have the same problem. My OS (Windows XP) doesn’t support web GL, but I can play it one day, then next day I can’t play it anymore.

@Michaelhe we’ve heard about a few issues with the game in China. I’m talking to the team to narrow down potential problems.
why can i only play up to round 50 then victory already?
@Quino – Grasslands – the first level – is now a trial with a cap at wave 50. As it says in the pop up, to unlock all of Grasslands, all you have to do is purchase any other map. Let us know if you have any other questions.
if i buy the full game,does it still need the connection of the internet? and the time it takes to load the game is quite long?
@Quino Yes, it still requires an internet connection. Loading times are all determined by internet connection, so you may want to try on a faster network. Hope that answers your questions! Cheers
I would like to buy FieldRunners HD to run in Chrome on my desktop, but I can’t get it to run or give me a link where I can purchase it for Chrome. Any suggestions?
